Accommodations, Dining, and Attractions in Pennsylvania Dutch Country
Pennsylvania Dutch Country Covered Bridges
You can find dozens of covered bridges in Pennsylvania Dutch
Country. Most of these are still in use. There are a few that are on private
land and charge an admission or are part of the grounds. They are picturesque to
say the least. If you want to see some of the bridges, it is a good idea to plan
ahead. Many of the them are well off the main roads.
Parking to take pictures can be a little challenging in spots
because of the narrow roads.
The Lancaster County Website has excellent information on the
Lancaster County Covered bridges and has some covered
bridge driving or bicycling tours laid out. The tours are generally between
30 to 60 miles long. Make sure you have a full tank of gas before starting out
since much of the country is very rural.
