The Strasburg Railroad
The Strasburg Railroad is located directly across the street from the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. It is a working railroad with vintage steam engines and cars. The railroad offers a variety of activities and is a great place for some good old family fun. You can take a simple excursion or enjoy their Dining Car. They also have events such as a day with Thomas, a wine and cheese train, military reenactments and a "Santa's Express" to name a few. There is also a miniature steam locomotive that you can ride. If you take an excursion, it is worth the extra cost to ride the parlor car. It is a living example of Victorian era railroading. Light refreshments are served ala carte and you get a running commentary on the countryside and the railroad. For more information, please visit the Strasburg Railroad website. Tips
