ZooAmerica website ZooAmerica in
Hershey has a large collection of animals including bear, bison,
alligators and more tucked away in a corner of Hershey. There is a decent
amount of free parking and you can, with the right tickets, access the zoo
from the park.
You can easily spend a couple of hours
depending on how fast you want to walk along the paths. As you enter the
zoo, there are houses with various smaller birds, reptiles and night
creatures such as raccoons. Animals requiring a warmer climate such as
reptiles are in the buildings. One of the inside areas shows nocturnal
animals in a natural dimly lit setting.
The outside paths meander along a pleasant
little stream that runs through the property.
Overall, it's a decent experience, especially
if you have kids. Our son was 11 and loved it.
One thing I didn't like was that the guard
made my wife open her tiny handbag before entering. That seemed a little
ridiculous and, in reality, does nothing to ensure the safety of visitors. |
