Pennsylvania Dutch influence in Hershey. The town sprang up as the
result of Milton Hershey looking for a location for his chocolate
factory. He wanted the factory to be near good dairy lands to supply the
needed milk. The Hotel Hershey is a beautiful historic hotel. It's a
great place to stay or just visit for lunch or dinner. (Don't confuse the
Hotel Hershey with the Hershey Lodge).
Lancaster is a small city in the heart of
Lancaster County. The city contains a number of
cultural attractions and
museums
as well as an
amusement
park. Farmer's
Markets,
golf,
paintball,
theater and
wineries. Many of the area's major attractions such as the Strasburg
Railroad are just minutes from Lancaster.
Strasburg is About 5 miles southeast of
Lancaster on route 741. If you love trains, this is the town to be near
since it is the home of the Strasburg Railroad, The Pennsylvania Railroad
Museum and several model train museums.
